Pfaff Motorsports shifts to McLaren for 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship
Canada-based Pfaff Motorsports is making a move to McLaren for the 2024 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, fielding a sole 720S GT3 Evo in pursuit of its third championship title. Pfaff’s successful five-year run in IMSA’s premier series with Porsche included championship titles in 2021 and 2022, along with 12 race victories.
This transition marks McLaren’s first full season in the GTD Pro class, following the brand’s success in partnering with Pfaff in IMSA’s lower ranks. Pfaff Automotive Partners, the official McLaren importer in Canada, operates McLaren retail locations in Toronto and Vancouver.
Chris Pfaff, Pfaff Automotive Partners president and CEO, expressed confidence in McLaren as a business, racing partner, and retail collaborator, emphasizing the long-standing partnership between the two companies. Ian Morgan, director of motorsport at McLaren Automotive, welcomed Pfaff Motorsports to the McLaren racing family and looked forward to building on their strong relationship in North America.
McLaren has been represented in the IMSA SportsCar Championship this season by Inception Racing’s pro-am GTD 720S entry, featuring Frederik Schandorff and Brendan Iribe.
