2024 BMW 5-Series Touring teased, arrives next spring – but the U.S. misses out
BMW has released the first official teaser for the upcoming 5-Series Touring, set to premiere in spring 2024. It will be exclusively available in Europe, Japan, and Taiwan, with no plans for a U.S. release for the regular versions. There are rumors, however, of the M5 Touring possibly being sold in North America.
The teaser provides a glimpse of the wagon’s silhouette and LED lighting signature, confirming the use of the sedan’s front section while featuring a redesigned rear end with an upright tail for added practicality. The 5-Series Touring aims to offer an alternative to SUVs, providing a lower-slung and more stylish option.
The powertrain lineup for the 5-Series Touring will be shared with the sedan, offering various options, including petrol, mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and a fully electric i5 Touring. The top-end M5 Touring, rumored to produce 790 hp from a plug-in hybrid V8, will be available for those seeking high performance.
The 5-Series Touring is expected to launch in spring 2024, with a wide range of options catering to different preferences. However, it will be limited to the European, Japanese, and Taiwanese markets, excluding the United States.
The 5-Series Sedan has already been launched in select markets, with deliveries and debuts in other regions set for the near future.
