Hand-doodled supercar, designed by Ferrari Chief Designer, raises funds for education projects

The yellow Ferrari 812 Competizione, adorned with a unique hand-doodled livery, was sold at auction for an impressive $5.1 million. The proceeds from this auctioned supercar will be directed towards charitable projects that support education, aligning with Ferrari’s long-term commitment to educational initiatives.

This one-of-a-kind Ferrari 812 Competizione was auctioned at the Ferrari Gala in New York, alongside seven other lots, raising a total of $7 million for charity. The lots included an Amalgam scale model of the 812 Competizione, the Montblanc Stilema SP3, and an exclusive Formula 1 experience. The gala was attended by Scuderia Ferrari F1 team drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc.

The lucky winning bidder will now own one of just 999 examples of this unique supercar. What sets it apart is the remarkable livery, featuring pen stroke sketches and handwritten notations, personally composed by Ferrari’s Chief Designer, Flavio Manzoni, known for his work on iconic vehicles like the Ferrari SF90 Stradale and Purosangue.

The Ferrari 812 Competizione maintains its powerful performance, featuring a 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 engine producing 819 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

John Elkann, Ferrari Chairman, expressed his satisfaction with the successful event, emphasizing the shared values between Ferrari and its passionate clients, including a commitment to innovation, progress, competition, and a sense of community. The gala also showcased the Ferrari 499P hypercar, which marked a significant victory for Ferrari by ending Toyota’s five-year winning streak at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The event featured a selection of classic Ferrari icons, such as the 1948 166 MM, as well as legendary supercars like the F40, F50, Enzo, and LaFerrari.
