2024 Genesis G70 unveiled for the US Market: More power and fresh features
2024 Genesis G70 has been officially introduced for the US market, showcasing notable upgrades and new features. While the changes to the exterior are relatively modest, the key highlight is a significant power boost for the base model.
The major update for 2024 involves a new 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine replacing the previous 2.0-liter unit in the base model. This results in a substantial power increase, with the 2024 G70 delivering 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque, a notable improvement over the outgoing model’s 252 hp and 260 lb-ft. This enhanced performance provides a more thrilling driving experience for G70 owners, marking a 48-horsepower increase over the previous version.
Furthermore, all G70 models now come equipped with high-performance Brembo brakes as standard. This enhancement contributes to improved braking performance and overall driving dynamics.
The 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine remains unchanged in the 2024 G70, delivering 365 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque. The power from both engines is transferred to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
While the exterior updates are subtle, including a new emblem featuring an intricately engraved Guilloche pattern, the G70 offers two new exterior colors: Vatna Gray, inspired by Iceland, and Kawah Blue, influenced by Indonesia. Additionally, the vehicle is available with new 18- and 19-inch wheels.
Inside the cabin, there are minor enhancements, such as a touch climate control display, a frameless rear-view mirror, and “functional designs” for various elements like switches, door and console garnish patterns, air vents, cupholders, and the key fob. The 2024 G70 offers two new interior color options: Obsidian Black/Fog Gray and Obsidian Black/Vanilla Beige.
Notably, the 2024 G70 features Genesis Digital Key 2 with Near Field Communication (NFC) compatibility. This advanced technology allows vehicle preferences to be saved to Apple Wallet and Samsung Pass and enables owners to share their Digital Key with friends or family for convenient access and driving.
While pricing and availability details for the US market are yet to be announced, the 2024 Genesis G70 stands as a compelling option for drivers looking for a sporty, feature-rich luxury sedan with a significant power boost.
