Stellantis has issued a recall for certain Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid models from the 2021-2024 model years due to a potential battery issue that could result in vehicle fires. The recall affects 32,125 units in the U.S., with an additional 3,856 units in Canada and 9,249 units outside North America.

Recall Details:

Issue: A potential battery problem that may lead to vehicle fires.
Affected Models: Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrids from the 2021-2024 model years.
Safety Advisory: Owners are advised not to plug in their vehicles and should avoid parking near buildings or other cars.
Incidents Reported: Eight vehicle fires have occurred, all while parked, with six still connected to chargers.

Service Procedure:

Owners are required to schedule a service visit with the dealership.
Diagnostic software will be flashed to the vehicle to determine if it has the defect.
Approximately 1% of the recalled vehicles (about 300 units) may require a new battery pack.

This recall is unrelated to the 2022 recall due to an assembly-related issue with the battery fuse.
