Aito M9 Introduces Huawei Technology, Multiple Screens, and Onboard Cinema Projectors

Aito, the Chinese joint venture between Huawei and Seres, has unveiled its flagship six-seater SUV, the Aito M9. Boasting modern styling and a suite of advanced features, the electrified model incorporates cutting-edge technology from Huawei, including various screens and innovative cinema projectors.

The Aito M9, a spacious SUV with contemporary design elements, features distinctive high-tech headlights reminiscent of Huawei’s Luxeed S7 sedan. Equipped with adaptive matrix LED technology, these headlights can identify pedestrians and other vehicles. Notably, an integrated projector can turn any flat surface into a 100-inch display.

Cinema Experience Inside and Outside:
The Aito M9 offers a unique cinema experience with two projectors. Externally, the headlights serve as projectors, while internally, there’s a laser projector and a retractable 32-inch panel for rear passengers. This setup allows occupants to enjoy movies, games, or TV shows comfortably.

Immersive Interior Technology:
The dashboard features a setup akin to Mercedes’ hyperscreen, housing a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central infotainment screen, and a 16-inch front passenger screen. Additionally, a 75-inch head-up display and four tablets for each rear passenger run on Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4 system. The Aito M9 is equipped with Huawei’s 25-speaker 2,080-watt audio system and active noise reduction technology.

Versatile Interior Layout:
The 6-seater interior layout is adaptable, catering to occupants’ needs. All seats are electrically operated, with most offering 14-way adjustment, heating, and ventilating functions. The SUV’s safety features include 27 sensors and the latest Huawei ADS 2.0 system.

Impressive Dimensions and Powertrain Options:
The Aito M9, slightly larger than a BMW X7, boasts a drag coefficient of 0.264 Cd, thanks to its Xuanwu structure with die-cast nuclear submarine-grade hot-formed steel and 80% aluminum alloy body. The model offers two powertrain options: a fully electric version with dual motors producing 523 hp and a range-extender variant with a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine/generator.

Market Positioning and Pricing:
Positioned above existing M5 and M7 SUVs, the Aito M9 competes with similarly-sized models in the Chinese market, including Li Auto L9, Nio ES8, HiPhi X, and others. Priced between ¥469,800 ($65,726) and ¥569,800 ($79,717), the Aito M9 is available for order in China, with initial deliveries expected in early 2024.
