Jeep’s Off-Road Upgrade Brings 35-Inch Tires, Factory Lift, and Enhanced Capability

Jeep is extending its Xtreme Recon package, initially introduced for the four-door Wrangler in 2021, to the two-door 2024 Wrangler with the Xtreme 35 Tire Package. This off-road upgrade marks the first time the two-door Wrangler receives massive 35-inch tires, enhancing its capability and performance.

The Xtreme 35 Tire Package, available for two-door Wrangler Willys and Rubicon models, includes 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels paired with BF Goodrich KO2 all-terrain tires. In addition to the substantial tire upgrade, the package features a 1.5-inch factory lift with specially tuned shocks, a 4.56:1 axle ratio, and a reinforced swing gate designed to accommodate the significant spare tire.

Bill Peffer, Senior Vice President and Head of Jeep Brand North America, highlighted the extreme capability delivered by the 35-inch BF Goodrich KO2 tires, providing a best-in-class breakover angle of 32.4 degrees straight from the factory with a factory warranty.

Key performance metrics for the Wrangler with the Xtreme 35 Tire Package include a 47.2º approach angle, a 40.4º departure angle, 12.6 inches of ground clearance, and a 34-inch water-wading capability. These figures position the Wrangler at the top of its class, outperforming competitors like the Ford Bronco Sasquatch in critical off-road metrics.

It’s worth noting that the Xtreme 35 Tire Package is exclusive to models equipped with the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Priced at $4,495, orders for the Rubicon variant are already being accepted, while customers interested in the two-door Wrangler Willys will have to wait until later in the quarter, with production starting in March.

Additionally, the Xtreme 35 Tire Package is now standard for the two-door Rubicon X, contributing to a base MSRP of $62,295 (excluding destination fee), up from $56,795 without the now-standard Xtreme 35 Tire Package. The 2024 Jeep Gladiator also offers 35-inch tires with the AEV Off-Road packages introduced in the previous year.
